Crying at La Bayadere by Amber Smith
Please join us this Friday from 6-9pm for the artist's reception of “Crying at La Bayadere,” an exhibition of drawings by Amber Smith. Smith graduated from the University of Colorado with degrees in Creative Writing, Art, and French. A self-proclaimed “pathologically sensitive” young woman, she is inspired by ballerinas and cats, with the omnipresent shadow of death looming overhead. Smith explores the fragility of humanity and emphasizes distortions of anatomy, not unlike the work of Egon Schiele. First Friday will also mark the beginning of our End-of-Season Sale, with discounts of 20-50% off Fall merchandise by Phillip Lim, Araks, Stella McCartney, Elle Macpherson, Kiki de Montparnasse, Eres, Nina Ricci and more. We will be giving away door prizes at random to attendees, so be sure to mark your calendars. Happy New Year!
