First Friday at Lille: Julianna Swaney
We're so excited for our next First Friday Art Opening! Not only is it our birthday, but we're also hosting an artist's reception for the lovely and talented Julianna Swaney, whose dreamlike, vintage-inspired illustrations will be gracing our walls for the month of May. Ms. Swaney, a Michigan native, attended the Maine College of Art, where she obtained her BFA in 2005. She has since shown her work in galleries around the country and been published in several magazines, including Martha Stewart Weddings, Uppercase, and Tin House. Her illustrations were featured in the book “Menagerie” by Sharon Montrose. The work on display for “Dreams in the Daytime” was inspired by Swaney’s Midwestern adolescence. We hope to see you next Friday, May 4th from 6-9pm!
