Celebrating Galentine's Day

Why should romantic relationships get all the glory every Valentine's Day? There are so many types of love, each one requiring its own level of work, dedication, and patience.

This is why I was so thrilled in 2010 the first time I watched the Parks and Recreation episode that introduced the world to Galentine's Day.

It's so important to celebrate our female friendships!

Per Parks and Rec, Galentine's Day is traditionally celebrated with an annual brunch and gift exchange amongst your closest gal pals. Obviously Coronavirus will shift plans to a more distanced exchange of adoration. And what better way to show your friends how much you love them than sending them a goody basket full of items to promote self-love, relaxation, and calm comfort.

First order of business is comfortable attire. There's nothing like lounging in a cute robe or pj set to get you in the mood to relax and take a load off. My personal favorite is the Gisele Collection from Eberjey. The super soft modal jersey feels smooth to the touch while the piping along the edges lends a sophisticated elegance. If you're looking for something a little more fashion forward, the Fie Collection by Underprotection celebrates the female form without sacrificing comfort. These pieces are fashionable enough to incorporate into your daily wardrobe -- double duty!

Next up is cozy footwear. The Eberjey Ankle Slipper Sock is like slipping a warm cloud onto your feet. I have personally owned these slippers and they are the only thing I've worn during the entire quarantine. What are real shoes?

Local to Portland, Palate Polish is a small woman-owned business that creates gorgeous and unique nail polishes. My friends and I have gotten really into nail art and quarantine has really let us experiment with so much time on our hands. I'm partial to the Cookies & Cream since it's an easy way to take a solid nail color up a notch.

If you're looking for an amazing wine to gift to your friends, look no further than McBride Sisters Wine Collection. This Black Woman-owned wine collection has exquisite wines for the most discerning palette. Bonus - in 2019, they created the "SHE CAN Professional Development Fund" in which they provide grants to Black Women-owned small businesses.

To round out this gift basket, throw in some sustainable skincare. The latest and greatest is Dieux Forever Eye Masks. These babies help you get the most out of your skincare products and treat yourself daily without accumulating unnecessary waste.

All brands mentioned in this are Woman-owned businesses. What better way to celebrate Galentine's Day than supporting ladies near and far? Take 20% off our entire Galentine's Day Collection with coupon code LadyLove20.

Here's to the ladies of the world! Cheers.
