Halloween Inspiration: Swashbuckling Pirate
Ahoy, matey! If you want a classic costume (that involves the potential use of props and a bad accent), you can't go wrong with a swashbuckler. We're not talking 'sexy wench,' but instead the classic, Treasure Island-style pirate. Start with the basics—a loose-fitting shirt like the Pattern Play Peasant Top, a pair of brown pants, and some boots that hit at the mid-calf or knees. From there, accessorize as you see fit: scarves, vests, hats, and leather pouches are all applicable. If you're going for more of a Captain Jack Sparrow look, make sure you attach beads in your hair. Finish the look off with a sword, a pint of rum, and a parrot on your shoulder.
