Paris Market Wrap-Up
It's so good to be home when the weather is this beautiful! Our market trip to Paris was magnifique, but there's no place like Portland in the summertime. If you follow us on Instagram, then you know we saw some gorgeous new lingerie and swimwear lines at the French show, and we were lucky enough to attend the 50th Anniversary of the Salon International de la Lingerie at the Château de Versailles!

It was, in a word, magical. I had been to Versailles once before, but it's quite a different experience to be there after dusk, surrounded by cocktail party guests in their finery.
Cocktail hour overlooking the gardens.
The organizers even employed classical musicians dressed in period attire to entertain us, adding to the ethereal charm of the evening. We felt so fortunate to be able to attend such a special gathering, and it really set the tone for the rest of the trip!

Our hotel, La Belle Juliette, was absolutely sublime. If you are ever in need of a Left Bank boutique hotel with spectacular service, then look no further. The weather was perfect during our stay, affording us plenty of excuses to wander the streets aimlessly, popping into boutiques and cafés in our free time.

I even had enough time on this trip to go to my favorite museum in the world, the Musée d'Orsay. It had been nearly a decade since my last visit there since most of my trips to Paris are jam-packed with appointments, but I was so happy that I managed to squeeze it in, because the newly renovated Impressionist wing is truly spectacular. If you haven't been, you simply must go!

It was so wonderful to catch up with some of our favorite French designers like Yasmine Eslami, Elise Aucouturier and Sabrina Nadal, and also to see some familiar American faces from Eberjey, Araks and The Lake and Stars during the hectic market days. We were intrigued by the bold colors and prints of the Spring '14 collections, and surprised to see trends like fetish and bondage making their way into the mainstream. (Thank you, 50 Shades of Grey?) We can't wait to show you the exciting line-up we have in store for you for next year--no less than 10 new swimwear, lingerie, footwear and accessories brands will be added to the roster! Stop by soon to chat with us about our favorites...
