Relique
We're so excited about the arrival of a brand new lingerie line, Relique, (pronounced ray-leak) founded by NYC gals Chelsea Carson and Kait Vasquez. These incredible ladies actually hand-dye their own fabric, so each piece is unique and no two garments are identical. This special treatment to the material is something we haven't seen in the mass market before. They even use the complex Japanese fold and clamp dyeing method 'itajime shibori' that you may remember if you saw Rio Wrenn's RAW line at Lille several years back. For the Autumn/Winter 2013 collection, inspiration was drawn from images of Icelandic volcanoes--hot lava and ash with pure white snow. Their modern shapes call to mind other independent lingerie lines like VPL and The Lake and Stars, melding the sporty with the sophisticated, only with their own twist. We're very excited to be one of the first stores to carry this line, and we think you'll love it!
