The Iconic String Bikini
Posted on July 08 2008
Legend has it that Brazilian model Rose de Primo invented the string bikini by accident when she ran out of material while fashioning a suit for a photo shoot. They certainly don't leave much to the imagination, but that's sort of the point, isn't it? The iconic cut was made famous in the 70s as one of the most revealing suits on the beach, fastened by strings rather than offering full coverage at the hips and back. As you can see from the photo above, the new bikinis by Araks are smokin' hot. We have several sizes and color options in the Fabina/Luciana, the sexiest of which is the Violet- isn't it just so disco-fabulous? (of course, the bling helps!) Another favorite from the new swim shipment is the Raquel top in Lychee, pictured below. With cute center ruching and interesting dual straps, it's a unique design in an amazing color. More suits coming soon!
