Trends We Love: Neon

Ah, neon. It isn't for the faint of heart or quiet of spirit. Neon demands attention. It insists on living life by its own rules. It will never fall into the tidy protocols of society.

Neon is having a full fledged comeback and, honestly, we're here for it. When done right, Neon is truly an amazing trend that should never dim in the eyes of the fashionably devoted. This trend can be accomplished a few different ways. My favorites are full-on neon (go big or go home) and throwing in pinches of neon for visual interest.

Committing to a full neon outfit from head to toe is for the bold. Those electric individuals that truly bask in the glow of undivided attention.

Where neon really thrives is the power clash. Designer Novis has perfectly executed said clash of colors with her AW18 collection. Neons are meant to be fun and colorful - they break every rule in the book to allow for creative freedom! So take full advantage.

Here is one of our favorite designers, Yasmine Eslami, perfectly showcasing the power clash. Fuchsia and Orange will always clash in the most beautiful way.

The Neon Pink from Timpa is so bright that it seemingly glows from within. This is one of my all-time favorite pieces. This set is perfect to peek out the sides of a bright outfit for some visual interest with the textures of the cup. It also looks so good layered under a slightly sheer vintage dress. The juxtaposition between grace and outspokenness is so fun.

If you're not ready to completely douse yourself head to toe in colors that seem to shine brightness from within, a pinch of neon in just the right place can have just as ample of an effect.

I personally love the neon trend showing up in makeup. The makeup of Euphoria really brought this idea home with their unusual, bright, and abstract looks.

Honestly, isn't this the kind of fun we all need right now? I'm not particularly talented with makeup so I stick with a nice florescent green cat eye, but it gets the look across. Having zoom as my only interface with people these days, I find that it's really fun to go all out with interesting makeup.

The new Maison Close Corps a Corps collection is the perfect balance between fun and function. The neon straps pair so beautifully with the neutral colors of the mesh. This is great for those that enjoy neon on occasion but don't want to necessarily commit to something full-time. Each piece is provided with two interchangeable strap options - one neon for when the mood strikes, and one pair of neutral straps that match the mesh of the garment for more basic functionality.

If wearing neon isn't your thing, we get it. Not everyone wants to turn their person into a moving, breathing pillar of color. Sometimes you just want to enjoy the colors rather than embody them. If that's more your style, the Pride Collection by Boy Smells is both beautiful to look at and beautiful to smell.

However you want to get into neon, we're on board. Wear it bold, bright, and unflinchingly!
